New Civilian Group, CROWS, Grows Feathers For Flight!

A new civilian reenacting group was formed Oct. 4, 1999.  It has been  uniquely named Civilian Reenactors of the West Society (CROWS).  Very cute and it grows on you!  Officers were elected and are as follows:
     President: Deby Thompson
     Vice President: Katrina Perry
     Secretary: Cathy Connor
     Treasurer: Cherrie Mann

A purpose was proposed, voted and accepted by those in attendance.
Our purpose is to educate and provide activities at living history
events and Civil War reenactments.  The organization is non-partisan
choosing neither a Northern or Southern preference in order to focus
on education and activities for all involved in the hobby of
recreating life during the war period.

We voted to have our next meeting November 6, 1999, 10:00 am at
Smitty's Restaurant in Republic, Missouri.  The meeting time and date
will allow us to meet during the MCWRA board meeting and also take
part in the general membership meeting thereafter.  We encourage
anyone, men, women, and children to come and be a charter member in
the fastest growing civilian living history organization of the 20th
century!  Please come and help us to start it on the right path as we
draw up guidelines, plan a dues schedule, and plan the year 2000's
civilian activities in the TransMississippi West!  Together as family
     we can make things happen!

     For more information please contact
     Deby Thompson, 573-642-7515 or
     email her at debythompson@boonecountymo.org.
